Domestic EPC's

Domestic EPC's

It is now law that every home requires a residential EPC within 5 days of the property being marketed for either sale or rent. The purpose of this is to inform the potential new owners or tenants about the energy efficiency of the property. Using an EPC anyone can gauge how much the property will cost to heat and what measures are in place to save them money.

Failure to do this could cause delays and you could also be fined!

Below is what typically happens on an inspection, move your mouse over each image for an explanation.

Total home energy assessment

A total home energy assessment is where an assessor creates an analysis of your energy usage and puts forwards suggestions on how to reduce your energy usage. This does not just include suggesting energy efficient lighting but also scrutinising your heating and ventilation systems within your home.

This could also include the implementation of new energy efficient products such as solar thermal, solar pv or air to heat pumps.

Insulation assessment

Our services for residential homes also includes being able to give home owners current and good advice on how best to ensure that heat loss is kept down to a minimum. One of the ways that we can do this is by performing an insulation assessment on the property, using thermal imaging cameras we can pin point weaknesses in the heat loss defence and suggest more effective measures to assist our customers.
